A: No, this is a card processing service and is completely separate to business banking. The benefit of banking with HSBC as well as doing your card processing with them is that payments get into your account quicker.
Q: How long does it take to switch to HSBC Merchant Services?
A: A: We generally advice retailers to expect their service to be up and running within 3 - 5 weeks, often it happens quicker than this but because its so critical to your business we suggest you allow plenty of time. Afterall there's money involved!
Q: How and when can I negotiate lower rates with HSBC Merchant Services?
A: A: If your credit card turnover is in excess of £300,000 per year you may be able to negotiate lower rates. We don't publish these rates because it is done on an individual basis depending upon your turnover, sales volumes and average transaction values.
