Q: Will DAS appoint my own accountant or one of theirs?

A: DAS will in general appoint a specialist tax consultancy firm from their panel of experts who will be primarily responsible for managing the tax investigation or enquiry. The consultants will however liaise with your own accountants whenever this is appropriate in order to respond or negotiate with HMRC
